Camphor has an antiseptic, local irritant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. By stimulating the sensitive nerve endings of the skin, it reflexively improves the trophism of organs and tissues. It has a stimulating effect on the respiratory and vasomotor centers of the brain.
Turpentine oil has a local irritating, distracting and trophic effect. When used inhalation, it reflexively stimulates cough, providing expectorant and mucolytic effects.
